KLR operates four (4) offices in MA and RI and has more than 280 professionals. Due to department growth, we are seeking an accounting paraprofessional to join our non-profit group.

The Accounting Paraprofessional role is critical in the KLR Non-Profit Team. If you want to be part of a growing team, have opportunities to develop and strengthen your accounting skills, and work with mission-driven organizations, this role is for you.

This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 60-70% of the time required in our Boston or Providence office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the collection of materials and data with internal team members, clients, and outside parties.
  • Prepare analyses and documentation in support of services for clients, including deliverable work products and presentations.
  • Preparing various tax and regulatory reporting forms, including data entry, and working with applicable software
  • Coordinate scheduling of projects, deliverables, and related details.
  • Work with team members to ensure deadlines, deliverables, and service goals are met.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain appropriate policies and procedures to ensure proper compliance.
  • Management of the document request process throughout the engagement
  • Transfer client data from the client portal to the audit binder
  • Coordinate client billing, and engagement budget to actual results and communicate to the team throughout the engagement.
  • Assist with and coordinate delivery of draft financial statements, regulatory reporting, and annual return packages to the client.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations, research, and related delivery of information

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Professional services experience is highly preferred.
  • Nonprofit experience highly preferred.
  • Associate degree in accounting required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a variety of roles.
  • Strong organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong computer skills and IT capabilities with a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Practice Management and CCH Engagement software is a plus.

We are looking for a candidate to work full time. Normal hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with expected overtime during our peak season: January through April and sporadically through the rest of the year. These periods require increasing normal weekly hours, which can include weekends.
