KLR is one of the fastest growing accounting and professional services firms in New England. We are seeking a Senior People Business Partner and Coach to join our People Team in a hybrid capacity, based out of our Boston or Providence offices.

KLR is ranked as one of the Top 100 accounting and business consulting firms in the United States. As Senior People Business Partner, you will have a direct impact on the experience and results of our individual employees, teams, and the Firm. This role will have three primary purposes:

  • To act as a trusted advisor to the agreed business units and service lines providing people guidance and positive challenge to create the right culture for KLR’s Continued growth;
  • To provide proactive performance coaching to all associates and supervisors to support optimum productivity, growth and development, engagement, and retention; and
  • To design and manage a positive and effective employee experience.

This position is required to be hybrid and work within one of our office locations a minimum of 50% of the time.

You will report to the Chief People Officer, oversee a People Experience Coordinator, and partner with the entire people team to deliver on your essential functions, which include:

  1. Provide proactive, real-time feedback, coaching, and development to our interns/co-ops, associates and supervisors (Approximately 60% of time)
    • Develop a trusted advisor relationship and proactively solicit feedback from managers, senior managers, Partners, and our Resource Manager about the performance, skill levels, and engagement of associates and supervisors.
    • Provide immediate feedback, coaching, and learning support when a performance concern is raised.
    • Meet with each associate and supervisor monthly to:
      • Provide real time feedback, coaching, and development support.
      • Ensure they are fully utilized,
      • Ensure they have the tools, resources, skills, knowledge, and support to be successful and are meeting or exceeding expectations,
      • Check in / provide guidance on their career path and ensure they are progressing on their goals, and
      • Document feedback, coaching, and progress against goals in Lattice, our performance management software
    • Work closely with our Senior Manager of Learning and Development to
      • Create and update development plans for all associates and supervisors and provide needed development, training, and tools to support identified gaps and goals.
      • Support effective feedback and developmental coaching and training by managers.
      • Create and manage coaching and performance improvement plans and if necessary, exits in the most positive and effective way possible
  2. Optimize and Strengthen Employee Experience and Culture (Approximately 40% of time)
    • Oversee and optimize the entire employment life cycle and experience to ensure that all team members have the best experience possible.
    • Continuously evaluate processes, programs, and feedback (including survey results) to improve employee experience, effectiveness, and consistency.
    • Manage the Firm’s completion, analysis, and action planning for all Firm culture surveys, including Best Places to work and eNPS.
    • Manage People Experience Coordinator, including overseeing the employee hiring, onboarding, mid-boarding, employee questions and relations, and off boarding.
    • Continually invest in self-development by remaining current with new developments, technologies, industry trends and innovations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, human resources or a related field or a combination of education and directly related work experience.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated success in employee development and building and managing professional relationships. Three to five years’ experience in coaching, training and developing employees. Background in a professional services environment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly preferred: Certified Coach and / or certifications in Predictive Index, Disc, Myers Briggs, and / or Strengths Finder, etc.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to earn credibility and influence others.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide critical feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance in ambiguous situations.
  • Willingness to exhibit and embrace curiosity, in addition to using critical thinking skills in guiding others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and composure in stressful situations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment, meeting deadlines and successfully managing the daily workload.
  • Exceptional judgment, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a change agent and effectively drive new initiatives in partnership with other firm departments.
  • Ability to work after hours, as needed.
  • Ability to travel to other offices and events, as needed.

We are looking for a candidate to work full time. Normal hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with expected overtime during our peak seasons. These periods require increasing normal weekly hours, which can include weekends.
