Renza, Jr. will be honored with Industry Legend Awards for their invaluable contributions to both the CPA profession and Rhode Island Business Community. Litwin, CPA, MST, MBA: Alan began his career in public accounting in 1980 and is the co-founder of KLR, the 80th largest CPA firm in the U.S., where he works with many emerging businesses in financial and professional services, life sciences, healthcare, and technology companies. Alan is currently Chair of the Board of Directors of the Providence Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Vice Chair of the Board of Lifespan and serves on the Boards of LEA Global, the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council and the Federal Affairs Committee Member for the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce. In the area of civic activity, Mr. Litwin was honored in 2015 with the Miriam Hospital Person of the Year Award. In 2014 he was honored with the Joseph Ress Community Service Award by the Jewish Alliance of RI as well as the Hassenfeld Community service award and Alperin Leadership award in previous years. In 2011 he was awarded the Wheeler School Board of Trustees Award. About John S. Renza, Jr. CPA, MBA: Jack began his career in public accounting in 1970 and was a Managing Director with KLR until his retirement in 2011. In addition, Jack is a Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Community College of Rhode Island. His professional affiliations included a membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Estate Planning Council of RI and the Rhode Island Commodores. He was a recipient of the AICPA- 1995 Public Service Award. He is also a member of the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants (RISCPA), where he has served as a Director of the RI Society, Chairperson of the Public Information Committee and Chairperson of the Legislative Committee as well as a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). In addition, Jack was a member of the Rhode Island Board of Accountancy, Continuing Education Advisory Board, the Institute of Business Appraisers, a former member of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges and a former Trustee of Bryant University.
