Our Commitment to Improve Diversity and Inclusion

Inclusion and Diversity Plan- Our Inclusion and Diversity Plan is a living, breathing, growing document through which we compile data, assess our progress and outline how we will improve. Our employees are surveyed regularly to give us a measure of where we are currently and what areas need improvement, which is all incorporated into the plan.

Women’s Business Exchange- Empowering our Women to reach their career goals through our Women’s Business Exchange has improved KLR’s ratio of female partners to 39% compared to the industry average of 23%. Our Marketing, HR, IT, Nonprofit, Wealth, International, Corporate Tax and Tax Services Groups are all led and managed by Women.

KLR University- Our in-house education program for all colleagues incorporates various professional, technical and education sessions on embracing a diverse, inclusive and equitable workforce, which are mandatory for all team members to attend. Through these sessions we hope to promote active learning, listening and reflection on diversity issues.

Recruiting efforts- Our employment practices are reviewed on a regular basis to identify possible barriers in recruitment, hiring, promotion and retention of a diverse staff. We currently advertise positions on NABA, Indeed, Linkedin and include our EEO statement on all ads.

Making an Impact program- One of our most valuable resources is our people who represent every part of our community and also have deep expertise in solving important problems through our “Making an Impact Program”. To that end, we volunteer hours of time to the nonprofit community, service over 300 nonprofit clients and sit on over 100 boards. Together, we provide thousands of hours of annual support.

We help lower income communities through volunteer hours at:

  • Food Drives
  • Inner city school backpack program
  • Walking School Bus programs
  • Helping the homeless get skills to apply for jobs

Multigenerational Workforce - KLR has four generations working collaboratively to address the needs and demands of our clients and community. Having multiple perspectives, skills and experience levels helps create a collaborative, innovative and productive workforce.
