KLR Newsroom KLR Starts its Own Internal Shark Tank August 15, 2017 KLR has implemented an “internal Shark Tank” competition in their 5 offices. KLR has implemented an “internal Shark Tank” competition in their 5 offices with the goal of continuous improvement in client service and allowing the talented, energetic staff to have input to bring impressive, out-of-the-box ideas to the table. When everyone at KLR was in one office, it was easy to grab someone for a quick cup of coffee to discuss ideas. As KLR has grown, it has become impossible to meet with everyone and ask for their ideas. So we came up with a formal process for our colleagues to present their thoughts to the Partners (aka Sharks) and the rest of the firm. “The Shark Tank idea is awesome because it is fun, adds a bit of competition and most importantly gives our colleagues an opportunity (voice) to speak about their ideas,” said June Landry, Partner, CMO. “Our first round of ideas is already a success; ten teams have started the “pitch process” and we are very excited to hear all the ideas.” Each team will pitch their idea to a voting panel which will select the best ideas to fund and pursue. The three top ideas will move to the final round at our Annual Summit in November at Gillette Stadium and pitch to all of our colleagues (250). Our colleagues will vote, in real time, for the winner. Prizes will be awarded to all the participants. “This is a great way to learn about real practical and exciting ideas,” said Alan Litwin, Managing Director. “It also gives our colleagues an opportunity to pair up with other members of our team from different offices that can bring their ideas to life.” Our internal Shark Tank is just the beginning. This initiative will kick-off our Innovation Committee, whereby everyone at any time throughout the year has the opportunity to submit their ideas.
