KLR Women Business Exchange Hosts Session on Communication to New England Business Leaders

KLR Women Business Exchange (WBE) hosted a session at the Hope Club, Providence, Rhode Island, on October 24th. Peri Ann Aptaker, WBE Chair and KLR Shareholder, kicked-off the session with an overview of the group’s goals and an introduction of Speaker Barbara Tannenbaum.

The session focused on Dynamic Communication and included an interactive agenda to an audience of over 75 business leaders. The session’s goal was to help strengthen communication style in order to speak with impact and be an effective influencer. Participants discussed tools that will help them become better business leaders through clarity, confidence and attention to their audience.

“Your event was one of the best I have been to in years. As a female in a leadership role in both my job as Director of HR and as a board member of SHRM RI, there are those tricks we sometimes forget on how to get our message across and how to do it effectively. Last night was a wonderful reminder that those tricks and tips are needed at times and gave us permission to use them, along with an instruction guide for using them successfully” said Nancy Kinirons Whitacre, Director of Human Resources, Westerly Community Credit Union.

About the speaker:
Dr. Tannenbaum is president of Dynamic Communication, LLC and on the faculty at Brown University. Barbara has extensive experience in developing and delivering persuasive messages. In addition to prior AICPA presentations and numerous keynotes in many industry conferences, her work in the business and legal community includes seminars and personal communication coaching in forums and companies including the Chief Judges Conference, AMLAW 100 firms, National Association of Women Counsel General Counsel Institute, Microsoft, Yahoo!,, CVS, Genentech, Textron, Sanofi-Aventis, Met Life, Merrill Lynch, and Morgan Stanley.
