Boston restaurants offer diners an intimate experience through chef's tables

Going out to eat at a restaurant is something that many people enjoy, whether it's visiting their favorite establishments or trying out a new place.

Going out to eat at a restaurant is something that many people enjoy, whether it's visiting their favorite establishments or trying out a new place. To add to the Boston hospitality experience, some of the city's best restaurants are attempting something new: offering diners access to chef's tables where meals are prepared in front of everyone and served up right next to the kitchen.

This may sound less-than-appealing, as the kitchen area is often a hectic and busy space. But the Boston Globe explained that chef's tables have garnered a lot of interest from diners, as many want to see how food is prepared and made through a behind-the-scenes look at how some of the most successful kitchens are run. The source noted that these chef's tables are known as "the best seats in the house," and several renowned establishments in the region are offering diners this option.

These restaurants include Menton with its dining table for 12 people that is right next to the kitchen, and L'Espalier, which gives four diners at a time access to the chef's table to see firsthand how some of the establishment's most delectable dishes are created. Blantyre and Asana are other Boston-area restaurants with chef's tables that provide people with a different dining experience.
