Some of the most popular restaurant trends today will become a fad tomorrow. Here’s a forward facing look at how the hospitality industry will evolve in the years ahead.

Some of the most popular restaurant trends today will become a fad tomorrow. Here’s a forward facing look at how the hospitality industry will evolve in the years ahead.

Industry competition is at an all time high. Restaurants will need to find ways to differentiate themselves and create fun and interactive tools to make their dining experience one-of-a-kind. Customers expect more on a special night out than just great food and service.

People love to eat, it strikes a chord in their hearts and a rumble in their stomachs. When it comes to comfort food, consumers still crave it and request it, regardless of nutritional content (you can always start your diet tomorrow night, right?).

Although the most innovative restaurants are finding ways to make better use of mobile technology they can’t forget about the “personal touch” element of service. Customers want to know you care and it’s the little things that turn a nice dinner into an amazing experience. Finding ways to add that “wow factor” will turn a first-timer into a repeat customer.

“My favorite restaurant, where we bring only our most special guests always times my meal perfectly and mixes my parmesan cheese with olive oil table-side.”

Not only can you expect mobile to develop in the front of the house it will transform the back of the house too. The latest cooking and food preparation technologies will help chef’s truly create a piece of art on a plate, speed up cooking time and increase food quality.

Of course, no story is too good to be true. Health conscience customers will still be frequenting restaurants by the masses and expect to see low-calorie meal options that taste and look better than their full-bodied counterparts.
