KLR Celebrates Inaugural Values in Action Award Recipients

August 07, 2026

New awards recognize team members who bring KLR’s core values to life through the way they work, serve, collaborate, and lead

See the KLR Values in Action Awards in action and meet this year’s recipients.

KLR, a leading accounting and business advisory firm, recently introduced its inaugural Values in Action Awards, recognizing five team members who demonstrate the qualities at the heart of the Firm’s culture, and the way KLR serves its clients and communities.

Presented during KLR’s annual Summer Outing, the awards celebrate colleagues who lead with integrity, put people first, collaborate across teams, strengthen their communities, and find better ways to solve problems.

“At KLR, success isn’t measured only by growth, client wins, or business results. It’s also measured by how we achieve those results,” said Paul Oliveira, CEO of KLR. “The way our people support one another, solve problems, share knowledge, and take care of our clients ultimately shapes the experience people have with KLR. The Values in Action Awards give us an opportunity to recognize those behaviors and the people who demonstrate them every day.”

KLR’s five core values, Integrity, Client-Centric, Collaboration, Community, and Innovation, guide how the Firm approaches its work, relationships, and decisions. The inaugural recipients were nominated by their colleagues for demonstrating those values in meaningful ways.

Integrity | TJ Crawford, Client Accounting Services

TJ Crawford was recognized for the honesty, reliability, and professionalism he brings to every challenge. Known for his extensive technical knowledge, TJ is equally respected for knowing when to ask questions, dig deeper, and find the right answer. His dependable, solutions-focused approach has made him a trusted resource to colleagues and clients alike.

Client-Centric | Jennifer Szelag, IT

Jennifer Szelag demonstrates that being client-centric starts with a willingness to help, follow through, and take ownership. Whether addressing a simple request or a complex challenge, Jen is known for staying with a problem until it is solved. Her responsiveness and persistence reflect the level of service and accountability KLR strives to bring to every relationship.

Community | Dan Andrea, IT Assurance

Dan Andrea was recognized for the welcoming and supportive environment he creates for those around him. His thoughtfulness and ability to connect with colleagues across teams strengthen the sense of community at KLR and help create a culture where people feel supported, connected, and part of something larger than their individual roles.

Collaboration | Taylor Bulis, Audit

Taylor Bulis was recognized for her commitment to helping others learn and grow. Through hands-on mentoring, encouragement, and a willingness to share her knowledge, Taylor helps colleagues build both skills and confidence. That collaborative approach strengthens KLR’s teams and, in turn, the depth of experience and support those teams bring to clients.

Innovation | Tom Jolin, IT/Innovation

Tom Jolin was recognized for turning a business challenge into a practical solution that has improved the way KLR works. By listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and understanding the need before developing a solution, Tom created an automated cross-service and attest conflict check process that has made an immediate impact on the Firm’s operations. His work reflects KLR’s commitment to using technology thoughtfully to make processes smarter, more efficient, and more effective.

The Values in Action Award itself was intentionally designed to represent the spirit behind the recognition. Its flowing form symbolizes connection, upward movement, and the ripple effect one person’s actions can have across an organization.

The idea behind that design also reflects the purpose of the awards: individual actions have an impact far beyond a single moment. Mentoring a colleague strengthens a team. Sharing knowledge can lead to a better solution. Improving a process can create a better experience. And doing the right thing builds trust.

“Our values are more than words, they are reflected in the choices our people make every day and in the relationships we build with one another and our clients,” Oliveira added. “TJ, Jen, Dan, Taylor, and Tom are wonderful examples of that. We’re proud to recognize them and grateful for the impact they have on KLR.”

The Values in Action Awards will continue as a KLR tradition, recognizing team members who demonstrate that the everyday actions behind great work can collectively make a meaningful difference.
