Mass. tax holiday gives consumers a tax break on personal purchases.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick approved another sales-tax free holiday weekend on August 11th and 12th that will give shoppers a break from the 6.25-percent sales tax.

Items that will be exempt include those purchased for personal use up to $2,500 in value. Purchases that will still be taxed include restaurant meals, tobacco, cars and motorboats.
